Pressure persists

The official and parallel market quotes still leave a gap. The official closing rate of N1,332.9000 per dollar compares with the parallel market selling rate of N1,365 per dollar. For businesses and consumers, the spread keeps dollar sourcing costs higher on the street than at the official window. The official market depreciation also points to continued pressure on the naira, even as parallel market rates eased by N10 from Friday’s levels.
